JAVA

Creating, coding, and enhancing mobile apps for smartphones and tablets to meet user needs

History of JAVA

Java, created by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems in 1991, was officially released in 1995. Originally designed for interactive TV, Java evolved into a platform-independent, object-oriented language. Its slogan "Write Once, Run Anywhere" reflects its ability to run on any device with a Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Over the years, Java gained immense popularity due to its robustness, security features, and portability. After Oracle acquired Sun Microsystems in 2010, Java continued to thrive, powering applications across industries, from mobile apps (via Android) to enterprise solutions. Today, Java remains one of the world's most widely used programming languages.

Features of JAVA

  • Platform-Independent: Write once, run anywhere with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) compatibility.
  • Object-Oriented: Supports OOP principles like classes, objects, inheritance, and polymorphism.
  • Secure: Built-in security features like bytecode verification and sandbox model.
  • Distributed Computing: Built-in support for network and internet-based applications.
  • Multiplatform Support: Develop applications for desktop, mobile (Android), and web platforms.
